    How to Update your device wirelessly




    1. Plug your device into power and connect to the Internet with Wi-Fi.
    2. Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
    3. Tap Download and Install.
    4. To update now, tap Install.
    5. If asked, enter your passcode.



    Update automatically

    With iOS 12, you can have your iOS device update automatically. To turn on automatic updates, go to Settings > General > Software Update> Automatic Updates. Your iOS device will automatically update to the latest version of iOS. Some updates might need to be installed manually.



    Update your device using iTunes

    If you canít update wirelessly on your iOS device, you can update manually using iTunes on a computer that you trust. If your computer is using Personal Hotspot on the iOS device that youíre updating, connect your computer to a different Wi-Fi or Ethernet network before you update.


    1. Install the latest version of iTunes on your computer.
    2. Connect your device to your computer.
    3. Open iTunes and select your device.
    4. Click Summary, then click Check for Update.








    1. Click Download and Update.
    2. If asked, enter your passcode. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

    Features and improvements include

    ● One tap to flip between the rear and front-facing camera during a FaceTime call
    ● Live Photo capture during one-to-one FaceTime calls
    ● The option to hide the sidebar in News on iPad in landscape orientation
    ● Real-time text (RTT) when using Wi-Fi calling on iPad and iPod touch
    ● Stability improvements for dictation along with VoiceOver

    Bug fixes include

    ● Fixes an issue where Face ID may temporarily become unavailable
    ● Addresses an issue that prevented visual voicemail from downloading for some customers
    ● Fixes an issue in Messages that could prevent predictive text suggestions when typing on the Chinese or Japanese keyboards
    ● Addresses an issue that could prevent Voice Memos recordings from uploading to iCloud
    ● Fixes an issue where time zones may not have updated automatically
