A small tool to put any Apple Silicon Mac into proper DFU mode. This tool will allow you to then restore an IPSW using Apple Configurator.
Requirements
- Apple Silicon Mac running macOS Monterey 12.0 or newer. (Host machine)
- USB 3.0 Type C cable. (2.0 won’t work)
- Any Apple Silicon Mac you want to put into DFU. macOS installation on target machine is not required.
Simply plug the host Mac to your target Mac using the DFU ports and press the button.
M1 Macbook Air & 13” MacBook Pro: the DFU port is the rear port.
M1 14” and 16” MacBook Pro: the DFU port is next to MagSafe.
M1 Mac Mini: the DFU port is next to the power cable.
Why is this tool required? Since the button configuration does not always make Apple Configurator detect it as a DFU device.
M1, M1 Pro & M1 Max compatible.
This app will not run on Intel Macs as hosts since you cannot use Intel Macs to put Apple Silicon into DFU.
